The deserticulture theory is proposed by the Academician Qian Xuesen for the first time, the core of which is "more light, less water, new technology, high benefit, no-pollution, sustainable" to "barren land into fertile soil." The development of deserticulture exploits a way that combines governance with development, both bring sand under control and combat poverty, sustainable development of the ecological environment and the economic and social coordinated development. Gansu Province is one of the most serious desertification regions, and the Hexi Corridor desert, Gobi and desertified land accounts for about 54% of the total area in the region. In addition, a serious shortage of water resources in the region has greatly constrained the development of the region. However, the Hexi Corridor has rich light, heat, soil, mineral resources, the development of sand industry can not only optimize light, heat, water, soil resources, improve the regional ecological environment, but also promote the sustainable development of the regional economy.Pointing to the concept of deserticulture, theoretical development and progress in practice, this paper systematically analyzes the present situation of Hexi Corridor deserticulture development, resource advantages and constraints, and then builds the principle of deserticulture development and put forward four kinds of patterns, that is, efficient water-saving facilities agricultural development model, ecological governance development model, combining planting trees and grass development model, renewable energy development model, by improving the policy system, building Minqin state-level ecological special administrative region, establishing technology and information services support system of deserticulture in Hexi Corridor to promote the rapid development of deserticulture.
