Research On The Promotion Of Xiamen's Urban Function By Developing Modern Service Industry

Since the 90's of 20th century, the world industrial structure has shown the shift towards the services sector, services have become to an increasingly strong pull to regional economic growth. With rapid industrial development, it will face with the bottleneck of land, space, resources and environmental constraints. And then the developing modern service industry is the breakthrough of regional economic development, which not only make the energy consumption output per value decreased significantly, and environmental pollution has been effectively controlled, but also be able to promote industrial structure optimization and upgrading, resulting in highly concentrated and radiation effects, which greatly improved the city's comprehensive service functions. Developing the modern service industry can attract domestic and foreign famous enterprises to set up their headquarters in Xiamen, can direct or indirect drive financial sector, business exhibition, trade and shipping logistics development, and promote industrial upgrading and optimization, to promote scientific, technological innovation, the expansion of gathering and the proliferation of function, and optimize the space layout planning.In this paper, I consult the forefront research achievements on development of domestic and foreign modern service industries, and use normative analysis, comparison and empirical analysis. Firstly, this paper analyzes the status quo at home and abroad about development of the service industry;and the condition and existing problems of Xiamen's modern service industry development comprehensively and systematically; Secondly, on the basis of Xiamen's urban function orientation, it illustrates the impact of the development of modern service industry in Xiamen to enhance urban functions from such perspectives, the development of modern service industry on economic growth, employment, consumer capacity and the level of urbanization in perspective; Finally, based on the SWOT analysis in the modern service industry development in Xiamen, I propose the basic ideas ,strategic choices and promotion of the development of suggestions.
