| Railway transportation corridor plays a significant role in overall transportation system. Transport capacity of railway transportation corridor is to a large extent determined by allocation of transport capacity resources. The better the resources are collocated, the larger the transport capacity is shown. In the past decades, due to insufficient railway construction in China, the core concern of railway transportation organization is how to meet transport demand by optimizing recourses allocation and maximizing transport capacity. As more and more passenger dedicated lines have been constructed and employed, the intense environment of railway transportation has been relieved. The condition of organizing railway transportation will, as a result, change fundamentally.Under on the above background, the author participated in the research project relating to allocation of transport capacity resources. Drawing from the research result, the author brought forward the theories of optimizing railway transport capacity resource allocation. By incorporating theories and approaches in operational research, the author also built a model of resource allocation in railway transportation. The model examines feasible efficient allocation of transport capacity resources among different transport subjects. The thesis has all together 5 chapters. The first chapter explains the research background and its necessity, defines the concepts of transport capacity resources and resource allocation, and clarifies research focus and approaches. The second chapter analyses internal composition and external environment of railway transportation corridor and their coordination. The third chapter deals with theories relating to principles, conditions and concerns of railway transport capacity resources allocation. Based on these theories, the model of resource allocation in railway transportation is established. The designed model not only meets the basic transportation requirement and maximizes the transportation revenue, but also takes the transportation transfer into consideration. The feasibility and usage of the model is also presented in the third chapter. The chapter four gives in-depth analysis of the calculation methods of the unit revenue, unit variable cost, transport demand, reduction coefficient and carrying capacity. The calculation of variable cost of the train takes only those variables relating to transport capacity resource allocation into account, regardless of the fixed cost. The fifth chapter is a case study of railway transportation corridor from Wuhan to Guangzhou, which serves as a wrap-up of the whole thesis. |
