Research On Evaluating The Social Benefits Of Railway Transportation Corridor

Railway transportation corridor plays a significant role in rail transportation network and the development of the national economy, and it creates a huge of social benefits same as economic benefits. The construction and operation of "Four vertical and four horizontal" Passenger Dedicated Line(PDL) takes the breakthrough of comprehensive capacity and technical level of railway transportation corridor. PDL is not only to provide a larger platform for railway-enterprise and the innovation of passenger and freight product, but also enhance the capacity and quality of passenger and freight transporting service, and promote the economic and social development by the railway transportation corridor.Under the background, the author considers that it is necessary to discuss the social benefit of railway transportation corridor including PDL further, drawing from the research of the coordination and investment by Ordinary railway with PDL. Finally, wishing to provide the theoretical support for the construction of railway transportation corridor and PDL by the research of this paper.Based on the background、significance and status of this research, analysis the elements、product-types、development-trends of railway transportation corridor in use of the theory of transportation corridor. And then, research the structure of social benefits of railway transportation corridor, and analysis the characteristics of social benefits evaluation of railway transportation corridor, which will be evaluated by DEA method. At last, establish the usual C2R model、BC2model and improved C2R model for evaluating the social benefit of railway transportation corridor including PDL. Evaluate the Beijing-Guangzhou railway corridor from2006to2010,and discover that the DEA value of2010is2times larger than2006to2009nearly. This result appears that PDL can improve largely the social benefit of railway transportation corridor, providing the theoretical support for the construction of PDL and the development of railway transportation corridor.
