Today, manufacturing enterprises are facing increasing competitive pressures. Combination of computer application technology, developing production planning reasonably, enhancing customer satisfaction, shorting product delivery time is important parts to adapt to the rapid development of the situation. With a gradual change from"sales determined by products"to"products determined by sales"in the market sales and production methods. The production of multi-variety, small batches or even one-piece in Customer orders are becoming the dominant mode of production for majority of enterprises. Therefore, establishment of rational and effective production planning and implementation of optimization and control is of great significance for manufacturers to adapt to market needs, as well as enhance its competitiveness . Thus, implementing production plans smoothly is expected. However, enterprises have Bottleneck constraints in the production process; accordance to the principles of the Theory of Constraints, the bottleneck of the production planning process is one of the first problems to be solved if want to smooth the entire production process and satisfy customer due date. It's also a hot research spots for a lot of production managers and scholars.The make-to-order production type is characterized by multi-species, small quantities. Because of the random characteristics of manufacturing systems, the bottleneck in system drifts as the different product combination or tasks combination and becomes difficult to determine. So, it is difficult to determine the location of bottlenecks, as well as appropriate scheduling in practice. After studying the TOC and the characteristics of make-to-order production methods, the associated matrix method has been introduced to optimize production scheduling. Identify bottlenecks in the entire production process is the first step of the method; Then clearly indicate several important factors that impact production ranking and obtain the weight of each item by investigating; Finally, according to the weights of integrated data calculate integrated weights. The method which has the highest score is the optimal one. In this paper, take a copper wire enterprise as the background and its production plans as the study content. This plant is a make-to-order factory; combine the idea of the theory of constraints; establish optimization algorithm with the associated matrix; finally, get the results. These prove the feasibility of the method and it has practical guiding significance.
