With economic globalization and the rapid development of the computer and information technology, market competition is becoming more and more intense. The traditional seller's market has been replaced by a buyer's market; customer demand has the features of diversified and personalized. In this dissertation, the multi-species, small batch production methods for orders become the mainstream; the automotive industry is no exception to face the challenges of making to orders. The accurate production planning is particularly important. Production plan is an important part in production management and the basis of the normal operation of each sectors in enterprise, especially in the to-order, multi-species, small quantities and highly flexible production mode, the use of limited resources to develop reasonable enterprise production plans to complete customer demand on time has great significance for enterprise.Based on the research of automotive industry production planning at present, in this paper, the production plan system of the make to order company was introduced in detail. This paper analyzes the problems of production plans due to inaccurate sales forecasts, resulting in inaccurate production planning, and uses neural network method and gray theory to predict sales of the product, and do a comparative analysis of the two forecast results to determine a good forecasting method; at the same time, the theory of gray correlation was used to analyze the priority of orders for the implementation of specific plans. Finally, for the characteristics of assembling different types and multiple standard products on mixed assembly lines, the importance of scientific scheduling was analyzed and a scheduling model was set up. According to the established model, genetic algorithm was used to solve assembly sequence in matlab, and the result was compared with the existing method of scheduling. Also, a scheduling model of components was established to optimize assemble sequence in the purpose of consuming parts uniformly.
