After the 2002's new-round reform in apart and re-combination, there is a new competetive pattern in national communication market. And with the global telecommunications market is warmer and the 3G age's coming, china's telecommunications market in the next few years will be increased competition to enter a new stage of development. With china's telecommunications market opening and the widespread introduction of competition, in parti- cular, china has joined the WTO; china's huge potential for confusion with the telecommunications market has attracted more and more countries in the world telecommunications operators' eyes.As a domestic one of the four major telecom operators, china telecom group is facing domestic and foreign competetors increasingly tough challenges. Study china's telecommunications and famous overseas telecom companies in the business conditions from the mutual comparison, and exploring ways to improve competitiveness, are of strategic significance to enhance the competitiveness, the ability to gain an advantage in competition for china telecom.Based on the theory of competitive advantage, this paper uses qualitative and quantitative analysis method, focusing on the value chain and competitive advantages relations clues, using integrated analysis, comparative analysis, evaluation and other indicators, to make a system analysis of china telecom group's competitive edge.
