Study On Xinjiang Province's Cotton Industrial Cluster

As the primary industry , and the foundation of the national economy, the development of agriculture has received been paid highly attention by both the governments and the scholar's all over the world. Along with the development of economics and the division of labor refinement, the old industry shows some new phenomena and new characteristic. For instance, the agricultural industrial cluster, its characteristic is that the cluster is based on agriculture; what's more it has a very close correlation with both the second and the third industry. They form an organic organization.The research of agricultural industrial cluster's characteristic and its mechanism is meaningful. For this kind of study let us understand the correlation among the three industries, let us know how to promote the three industries' mutual development, how to coordinate the economical structure and promote the national economy grow continually and healthy .As a graduate student major in industrial economics , I am interested extremely in this kind of subjects. Therefore this paper finally chose Xinjiang province's cotton industrial cluster as an object of my study. In this paper I will study on the cotton industrial cluster's formation, its development and its characteristics; study on its functional mechanism and its influence. I will also research the cluster on dynamic and strategic view.On research methods, the paper is based on the economic theory, especially the Industrial Economic theory and the Regional Economic theory, fulfilled with an abundance of latest and detailed data. The theories guide my study, while the result of the positive analysis testified and modified the former. The qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis method are both used in this paper, the comparison research method is also utilized, collecting a rich data, I do some comparison both national and international, past and present.The paper divides into five parts, the first part is an introduction of the industrial cluster theory home and abroad, especially the agricultural industrial cluster. A lot of related literature are classified and summarized. This part also includes the introduction of the background, the significance and the logical line of the research The second part ,the GEM model is used as a main method to analyze the Xinjiang cotton industrial cluster's present situation, Grounding, Enterprise and Market are three main factors which are very important for the development of the cluster. The third part studies the cluster on dynamic view. In this part, I identified the stage of the cluster's growth. The cotton industrial cluster's effect as well as the influence to the regional economy was studied. In the fourth part, according to the latest international and domestic information, It is analyzed that the opportunities as well as the challenges which the cluster are facing. In the fifth part, based on the former analysis, some suggestions are given. The suggestions are given to both the government and enterprise including mainly four aspects: the policy needed by the industrial development, the strategy of enterprise growing, the reservation of capable people, and the research of new technology.The pursuers of this paper is to find out how far can Xinxiang province's cotton industrial cluster can go beyond, and how to accelerate this program in order to improve the regional competitiveness of Xinxiang province and to make people there leading a better life.
