The concept of energy security was firstly put forward in the 1970s after the oil crisis of energy. Energy security mainly refers to oil security. Stable access to adequate oil supply is critical to their own national economic development. Otherwise , not only would jeopardize a country's economic,political security, but also have a critical influence on a country's national development strategies. Generally speaking, One country must make efforts in three aspects in order to ensure the petroleum security. Firstly, find suitable and sufficient oil resource ; Secondly , ensure the oil supply chain security; Thirdly ,set up national oil strategic reserves. How to protect the safety of offshore oil transport corridors around the world has become a high concern as the vast majority of the world's oil shipments are carried through the sea transport.This article is divided into five sections. The first part is introduction , which describes the framework and methodology of the paper. The concept of energy security and theoretical basis of this article is the second part. The third part focuses on the strategic position of the Malacca Strait.In the fourth part, introduces the cooperation and rivalry among major powers , mainly focusing on the U.S., Japan, India and China. Part V not only points out the real threats to the Strait of Malacca and the limiting factors of management at the present time but also suggests that the international community should abandon the traditional zero-sum thinking and "Energy Security Dilemma", follow the framework of "cooperative security".
