The Research On The Development Of Luohe's Food Industry Cluster

Industry cluster in regional economic development is irreplaceable. It has become the important vector of regional economic development in our country. Luohe in Henan Province started from its rich agricultural resources, aiming at the development of food industry, implementing the strategies of industry cluster. These promoted the local economic development greatly. This paper makes the food industry cluster in Luohe as the researching object, and uses many different methods to research this aspect. It defines the concept and characteristics of the food industry cluster and analyses the status of the food industry cluster development, the main characteristics and main problems. At last, this paper gives some advices to speed up the development of food industry cluster in Luohe. Meanwhile, it investigates the Development Mechanism of Luohe's food industry cluster development from different aspects in order to give some important notices to accelerate the regional economic of China's central agricultural areas.This paper is composed of six chapters. ChapterⅠis an introduction which introduces the background,significance, objectives, ideas and methods of both domestic and foreign research. Chapter II focuses on the basic theory of industry cluster, defines the concept and characteristics of food industry cluster. Chapter III analyses the development of food industry cluster in Luohe from three aspects, including the industrial scale, main characteristics and the efforts in promoting regional economic. Chapter IV, V and VI are the focus of this paper where concluding opinions are mostly concentrated. Chapter IV uses the Industrial Cluster Theory as the guide and combines with the facts of the development of food industry cluster in Luohe. It investigates its Developmental Mechanism from seven aspects, including the selection of developmental direction, improving leading enterprises, emphasizing the technological innovation, implementing brand-name Driven, lengthening the industrial chain, and improving the environment for development. On this basis, it raises some suggestions: to develop food industry cluster in central agricultural areas is an effective way to accelerate the development; the development of industry cluster is necessary to highlight the regional characteristics; the government should play an appropriate role. Chapter V analyzes main problems in the food industry cluster of Luohe. Chapter VI analyzes the current situation of Luohe, and then proposes that Luohe need seize the opportunity to build food processing, trading and R & D base, to accomplish the great-leap-forward development.
