With the advancement of market economy in China, the agriculture products wholesale market has gone through the stage of simple expansion, extensive management into the new stage of stabilized scale, urgent improvement of its management and services, enhancement of its competence. Under such circumstances, the agriculture products wholesale markets are in urgent need of effective measures of infrastructure upgrading, restructuring and expansion of service functions through which these markets can promote their core competence, as well as establish their competitive advantages. Thus, study on the core competence of agriculture products wholesale market is an urgent issue. How to evaluate and promote the core competence of agriculture products market becomes the focus of the academic researches.The thesis firstly reviews the related theories concerning agriculture products wholesale market and core competence of the enterprises. It systematically analyzes the connotation, characteristics and elements of the agriculture products wholesale market and builds complete evaluation system of core competence of agriculture products wholesale market. Employing the scientific evaluation methods, the thesis systematically studies core competence of the agriculture products wholesale market. The thesis endeavors to combine the theoretical analysis with empirical research, thus offers some insightful measures and suggestions to cultivation and promotion the core competence of the agriculture products wholesale market. The thesis can be divided into five parts:The chapter one is introduction, it introduces the background, present studies, purposes, significance of the research, research methodologies, research framework as well as the possible innovations. Chapter two mainly analyzes the related theories. It introduces the connotation, the characteristics, the element of core competence of enterprises and that of agriculture products wholesale market. Chapter three establishes the evaluation system of core competence of agriculture products wholesale market. Based on the analysis of the connotation, characteristics as well as elements of core competence of agriculture products wholesale market, the thesis establishes the evaluation system from the perspectives of market scale competence, management competence, service and innovation competence, human resources management competence, marketing competence, financial management competence on the basis of AHP fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods and selection principles of evaluation of the core competence of agriculture products wholesale market. Chapter four is the empirical part. The thesis employs the evaluation system to conduct empirical researches on two agriculture products wholesale markets in Wuhan and Buji agriculture products wholesale market in Shenzhen respectively and proves the feasibility of evaluation systems. The main conclusions are as follows: the primary factors of agriculture products wholesale market are service and innovation competence, human resources management competence, marketing competence; the secondary factors of agriculture products wholesale market are financial management competence and management competence; the least important factors are market scale competence and sustainable development competence. Chapter five offers some suggestions on enhancement of core competence of agriculture products wholesale market. Based of the results of empirical researches, the thesis proposes the measures and suggestions on the improvement of agriculture products wholesale market from the perspectives of enterprises and government. The thesis maintains that the government should perfect the legal system of agriculture products wholesale market and provide the support; while the agriculture products wholesale market should improve innovation and human resources competence, strengthen brand-building activities, perfect market management institutions, extend industrial chain of operation and service of agriculture products wholesale market etc. in order to promote the core competence of the agriculture products wholesale market.
