With the development of our market economy, more and more enterprises go abroad to participate in the international market competition. In the fierce competition, our foreign trade enterprises should have strong competitive power in order to grow. Textile and garment industry is our China's exports' leading industry and its competitiveness is directly related to the level of China's exports. While the foreign listed companies in textile and garment industry are leaders which have a direct bearing on the competitiveness of the whole industry. This paper use the foreign trade listed companies in textile and garment industry as a research object and conduct empirical analysis to gain the competitiveness of the industry and then rank the competitiveness of listed companies. According the rank of the companies they could know their position in the industry and their respective competitive advantages and competitive disadvantages which made it easy to the listed companies to adopt corresponding measures to improve business performance and enhance their competitiveness.The main content of the paper are as follows: Chapter one, Introduction. This section introduces the background,research and the main content; Second chapter describes the relevant theories of the enterprises competitiveness including the definition of enterprises competitiveness,evaluation indicators,evaluation methods and some theories . Chapter three begins with the analysis of the textile and garment industry and then analysis the textile and garment foreign trade listed companies in four aspects: the regional layout,scale,main business situation and financial situation. Chapter four is the empirical analysis section. This paper selects a sample of 46 textile and garment listed companies which have deducted the companies engaged in domestic trade. The 17 selected sub-indicators are mainly based on financial statement data except the indicator of exports accounted for the proportion of main business revenue targets which is the unique evaluation index of the foreign trade enterprises. Empirical analysis uses the approach of the factor analysis to analysis the 46 textile and garment foreign trade listed companies and derived factor scores, then select a few representative companies for analysis. Chapter five propose solutions to enhance the competition of the textile and garment foreign trade listed companies based on the results of factor analysis, including expand the scale and gain economies of scale; enhance the management of receivables and inventory; strengthen debt management and make effective use of enterprise liability; strengthen technical innovation and develop core technology; focus on talent and increase human capital investment. Chapter six is conclusions and perspective.
