Study On Influencing Factors Of Export Competitiveness Of Fujian Textile And Garment Industry

Fujian Province is a major province for the production and export of textiles and garments in China,and its textile economy ranks among the top five in the country.As one of the traditional advantageous industries in Fujian Province,textiles and garments plays an important role in promoting employment,satisfying household consumption,accumulating social wealth and increasing foreign exchange earning.However,in recent years,with the increase of labor costs and changes in the international environment,the growth of fujian's textile and garment exports declined,and its export competitiveness weakened significantly.Therefore,based on the diamond model,analyzes the factors which affecting the export competitiveness of textile and garment industry,finds out its advantages and disadvantages in the export process,and puts forward corresponding Suggestions to improve its export competitiveness has important practical significance.This paper first summarizes the export situation,export characteristics and export problems of fujian textile and garment industry,and finds that although the export value of fujian textile and garment industry has been on the rise in recent years,its export growth rate has decreased significantly,indicating that it still faces great threats and challenges in export trade.At the same time,Fujian textile and garment industry still has problems such as high production cost,weak innovation ability,uneven market distribution and chaotic competition.Second,this paper selects five indicators and a comprehensive evaluation index to compare the export competitiveness of Fujian textile and garment industry with Zhejiang,Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces,and draws the advantages and disadvantages of Fujian textile and garment industry compared with other provinces,namely: Fujian textile and garment industry has certain export competitiveness,but from the development situation of each index,its export competitiveness still has a lot of room to improve;Third,based on the theory of diamond model,this article selects the revealed comparative advantage index as the dependent variable,the research and development investment,labor costs,labor productivity,domestic textile and apparel market demand,the international textile and apparel market demand,fujian textile and clothing industry gross value of industrial output,number of fujian textile garment companies,manufacturing foreign direct investment and the RMB exchange rate as independent variables,set up linear regression equation,and carry on the empirical test.By adopting Eviews software to test the relevant data in three different ways which concluded that the main factors affecting the export competitiveness of Fujian textile and apparel industry are: the research and development investment,labor costs,labor productivity,the international textile and apparel market demand,fujian textile and clothing industry gross value of industrial output,number of fujian textile garment companies and manufacturing foreign direct investment;and Residents' textile and apparel consumption expenditure and RMB exchange rate have no significant impact on Fujian textile and apparel export competitiveness.Finally,in order to improve the export competitiveness of Fujian textile and apparel industry,based on the above research results,some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,such as improving the factors and conditions,promoting the optimization and upgrading of textile and apparel industry;promoting the structural reform of the main export bodies,optimizing the main export bodies of textile and apparel;opening up diversified markets,dispersing market risks;establishing a rapid reaction mechanism,and strengthening the guidance role of the government.
