Traditional Underwear Function And Cultural Studies

The research of this dissertation started from the function and name of woman's underwear in ancient China and the features of their design in the different historical period. This research focus on the analysis of the meaning of underwear's design, style, color, material and processing skills of various nationalities in China of Qing dynasty. It also tries to analyze the features of Chinese underwear, wearing habit of Chinese citizen, the meaning of Chinese underwear's color and design and the folk features and plurality of Chinese underwear in Qing dynasty. The traditional thinking, cultural value and creational concept, which were presented by underwear in Qing dynasty, were proved in this research. This research also shows the deep cultural meaning of traditional clothes and tries to apply these elements into the design of modern underwear.
