SWOT Analysis On Mining Investment Environment In Western Region

Mineral resources in the western region have the inherent advantage of the conditions. But in a long time, owning to backward mining technology, weak infrastructure, poor access to financing and the lack of human resources, it's difficult to take the advantage of mineral resources into market advantage and economic advantage, which impeded mining industrial structure adjustment and upgrading in the western region. Therefore, it's significant to improve the mineral investment environment for the development of mineral economy as well as related industries.This paper mainly takes the theories of science of investment, regional economics and industrial economics as the foundation analysis. In conclusion on the basis of previous research about other relevant investment theory, taking the whole western mining industry as a study, SWOT analysis is used for systematic research on western mineral investment environment. At first, the western integrated development situation is outlined in this paper which is based on a large amount of data. Through the horizontal comparison, the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats are be analyzed. Then taking XinJiang as an example, combined with the actual situation of its mining industry development, this paper makes a thorough analysis of mining investment environment from mining competitiveness, mining industry structure, and infrastructure. At last, the suggestion and proposal on how to improve and optimize mineral investment environment should be brought up to settle the current problems.The innovation of this paper is to make a comparison between western provinces and analyses the similarities and differences of mineral investment environments. This paper takes Xinjiang as an example to make a thorough analysis. The shortcoming in this paper lies in that it's difficult to make a thorough analysis for every province in western region. As the defects of SWOT method, the conclusion of this article may include the components with subjective factors.
