China's ecinimic has sustained a rapid growth since the Reform and Opening Up. but at the same time, there are still great disparities showing in the process of regional economic development, therefore.regional economic disparities have become an important research direction both at home and abroad. On the other hand, influenced by the household regression system, China's population movement has its own characteristics that it has a close relationship with the imbalances of regional economic,Base on the theory of regional economics, development economics and migration, and under the perspective of population movement, this paper supplys an observation for the regional economic disparities. With a brief review of related literature, this paper supplys a theoretical of the internal mechanism undertaking polulation movement and regional economic development disparities. Based on that, we believe that in circumstances of exogenous techologies, population movement and regional economic development will both reach equilibria, after going through five stages. Then, using the practical population migration data to construct indicators including net migration rates of the population and relative net migration rates of the population, we make an analysis of China's regional economic dosparities. Meanwhile.we get an estimation of the theoretical level of regional economic development in the equilibrium states, throughout constructing models. The contributions of this paper is making an extension of related theories and analysing approaches underpinning the population movements in the dual urban-rural economy structure, to those underpinning the population movements in regional differences structure, providing a theoretical basis for observing and measuring regional economic disparities from the perspective of population movements. In actual application process, using migration-related data, we make a construction of new indicators to measure regional economic disparities. Furthermore. by constructing models, we give measurement and comparisons of the theoretical economic development level in different regions under the equilibrium hypothesis.
