Trade and investment integration has a profound effect on the world economy and trade patterns, so it is inevitable to make a research on the Development of trade and investment of Bohai Rim area, as it can make right judgments as well as propose new ideas for the open economic development.This thesis describes the implication of trade and investment integration, and the development process of trade and investment integration of Bohai Rim area. By analyzing problems during the open economic development in Bohai Rim area under the condition of trade and investment integration, this thesis proposes an available chosen for the open economic development in Bohai Rim area.The second chapter describes the implication of trade and investment integration, and its causes, characteristics and the impact on the world economy. Trade and investment integration means international trade and foreign direct investment exist at the same time, or integration. Although they are different opinions of the subject, they share a common goal of international economic phenomena. The division of labor elements causes trade and investment integration; Its development makes a closer tie between the developing countries and developed countries, and also makes more intermediate products than before, which ultimately realize the integration of trade and investment .The characteristic of trade and investment integration is that trade and investment is maintained in the size, structure and regional consistency. After analyzing of the impact of trade and investment integration we can find that, the integration of resources in the worldwide of multinational corporations is the basis of international trade division; the pattern of international trade is changing from intra-industry to giant Intra-industry trade within multinational corporations; dynamic benefits of international trade is having an increasingly prominent position; creating barrier for trade protection and promoting the development of regional economic integration.The third chapter introduces general conditions of the trade and investment integration of Bohai Rim area, which introduces the development of international trade and FDI, also the inevitable trend of trade and investment integration. First of all, as one of China's three major economic zones, the Bohai Rim area's open economy laggs behind the other two areas, yet accounting for 30% GDP of China, its open economy is facing a good opportunity ,and it has gradually become the third pole of outward economic development. In 2008, the amount of import and export of Bohai Rim area was 533.3 billion dollars, accounting for 20.8% of the whole country. Total imports and exports respectively accounted for 23.8 % and 18.4 percent of the country. In the same year, the foreign investment of Bohai Rim area amounted to 492 billion dollars, accounting for 21.17 % of the country. Although both the trade scale and the FDI of Bohai Rim area are far behind the other two economic zones, with the support of the national policy and improvement of the hardware and software environment for FDI in Bohai Rim area, the open economic of Bohai Rim area is flourishing. Through analysis of the third chapter, we will find the trade and investment integration of current Bohai Rim area is still at the initial stage: multinationals continue to grow; FDI and export trade scale share the common characterastics.; FDI enterprises'export products occupy more than 50% of total area exports; FDI has remained relatively high contribution rate on exports for the Bohai Rim area, and the average contribution rate is of 54.2%.over the past decade.Chapter IV analyzes the problems in the development of the open economic of the Bohai Rim area,; the external trade in the Bohai Rim area exists many problems: the foreign trade scale in different Bohai Rim area is not balanced; export product structure is not balanced; The new export markets is need to be extend; the factor cost is shortage and it has larger environmental pressure;In the absorption of FDI, the main analysis are the following four aspects: The regional economic cooperation is not enough, making obstacles for the development of open economy; industrial agglomeration is not obvious, the local industry of foreign-funded enterprises chain has limited extension; the outward supporting enterprises are in low-level and have little innovation.Regional economic cooperation needs to be in a higher level for the trade and investment integration, but in fact in the Bohai Rim area now it is far below standard; at the same time, the local enterprise is at a disadvantage position of international industrial chain; The low-level enterprises has limited the promotion of the technology level and the competitiveness, and in the free flow of global elements, the multinational company is easy to transfer.In the condition of the International trade and investment, the forth chapter promotes the options for the open economic development of Bohai Rim area. First of all, it needs to promote regional economic cooperation, open regional markets and promote the free flow of the elements, especially Beijing and Tianjin should play the core role in the middle ground; at the same time, improving the industrial structure and speeding up the improvement of financial environment. Secondly, it needs to exploit the comparative advantage and create dynamic competitive advantage as before, also, upgrade the industrial structure, increase the trade liberalization, and actively promote and expand exports in emerging markets. Again, in the choice of FDI, the focal point is still on absorbing the industrial transfer of multinational company; at the same time, its direction needs the guide; Also, the domestic enterprises need to be supported ,and it must actively undertake international service outsourcing; in this situation, it must promote independent innovation capabilities; Finally, following the example of the success of Haier overseas investment, the Bohai Rim area should encourage local enterprises to "go out".At present, although no theory about integration on trade and investment is widely recognized, it has become a mainstream theory of international trade and investment development. In the background of the trade and investment integration trend, the Bohai Rim area should adapt the development of trade and investment integration, actively promote balance of the trade and investment's development, accelerate the pace of regional economic cooperation, encourage the enterprises to go out.
