Study On Development Strategy Of Yueyang Industrial Park In Shanghai

According to Shanghai's municipal planning for its industry parks'future development, the emphasis is to build up industry parks above municipal level in Shanghai and to render differential policies for different industrial characters in order to make more effective of allocating resources, keeping down business service cost, interrelating various trades and encouraging the inhabitation of enterprises. Shanghai Yueyang Industrial Park is a municipal level industry park certified by Shanghai Municipal Government, Although enjoying its rapid economic growth since its establishment up to now, Shanghai Yueyang Industry Park has also seen quite a lot of shortcomings in itself, especially in lack of development strategy, which could help this industry park form its specific industries and enterprises and development mode with unique competitiveness and development mode, so that it is very necessary to make up development strategy for Yueyang Industry Park in order to strengthen its whole competitiveness.The present thesis uses the theory of economic development strategy to analyze the possible solution to Yueyang Industry Park's problems, five chapters in total:Chapter 1 analyses the research background and motivation and its theoretic and practical significance, it gives brief summary to the research methodology and clue. Chapter 2 introduces industry parks'meaning, the foundation theory for their development, including the industrial location theory, the agglomeration theory, the growth pole theory, the seed bed theory and so on, finally the strategy management theory. Chapter 3 outlines Shanghai Municipal Industry Parks'present status, especially the Yue Yang Industry Park, gives due analysis to its strategic resources ability by the economic development indicators of the enterprises in it; also in this chapter, it analyses its development environment by the Five Forces Model and its competition advantages by the SWOT method. Chapter 4& 5 are the focal points of the thesis, analyzing Yue Yang Industry Park's strategic principle and strategic positioning, strategic target and specifies that the development strategy for Yue Yang Industry Park is the finest quality strategy, indicating that the finest quality strategy is right the comprehensive result of differential strategy, sustainability strategy, professionalism strategy and brand name strategy, the two chapters also elaborate that what the meaning of the finest quality industry park is:develop the finest quality industry park on basis of steel industry in agglomeration orientation, in ecological industrial chain, in creative management and in thorough service. At last, it puts forth detailed countermeasures including pushing forward the extended base construction for refined steel, implementation of business invitations with actual effects, establishment of ecological park and acceleration of the regional innovation, these mentioned countermeasures have all been elaborated in the present thesis. Chapter 6 is the conclusion part, giving awareness of the thesis'inadequacy and the author's research direction in the future.
