Research On Intra-Industry Trade Development Between China And Japan

The international trade can be divided into the inter-industry and the intra-industry according to the alternative of goods. The inter-industry is the traditional form, the intra-industry is the new form which grew up after the World War II among the developed countries. With the development of economy and the progress of science and technology, the international division of labor has being deepened, so the inter-industry has been not adapted to the requirements of the development of international trade. And, there are more friction and conflict among countries. The intra-industry trade becomes the trend of international economic and trade.Since the Reform and Opening up, the economic and trade of China has developed in high speed. As a powerful economy, Japan is one of the most trade partners of China, which is proximate to China. The international trade between China and Japan has presented the feature of intra-industry trade. So, it is very helpful to research the current situation and problems of the intra-industry trade between China and Japan in promoting the development of the intra-industry trade between China and Japan, improving trade status of China and enhancing the competitiveness of Chinese goods to gain more profit.The first part relates research background, current research situation and research methods. According that, we can know about the realistic significance of researching the intra-industry trade between China and Japan. In the part of current research situation, I summed up the achievements of other scholars. The second part expounds theories about intra-industry trade, for example, Product differentiation, Scale Economy, Neo-Chamberlin models and Dynamic Comparative Advantage. Then I analyzed the phenomenon of the intra-industry trade between China and Japan according to those theories. The third part expounds current situation of intra-industry trade between China and Japan, and summarizes the feature and problems of that by means of G-L index and GHM index. The fourth part builds regression model to expound relatedness of each factors and action mode of them. The last part proposes countermeasures for promoting the development of the intra-industry trade between China and Japan. In this part, there are some countermeasures in two levels. The first level is country level in which including standardizing order of intra-industry trade, improving the quality of FDI and easing friction. The second level is industry level in which including promoting the upgrade of industrial structure, increasing ability of research and development, paying attention to differentiation strategy and establishing advantage of scale economy and so on.According to the needs of research, the paper chooses interrelated theories as basis and consults research achievement to analyze the intra-industry trade between China and Japan. When researching the situation of that, the paper uses the intra-industry trade theories in order to analyze the tendency, feature, factors, and problems in and to give the countermeasures roundly.
