Study On The Rural Tourism Contribution To The Rural Economy

Rural tourism with the theme of returning to nature has been spreading rapidly around the world, along with the booming economy and urbanization. In China, rural tourism has become the new growth for Chinese tourism and shown the dynamic vitality and huge developmental potentials in driving rural areas to quickly shake off poverty, promoting rural economy to develop soundly and accelerating the building of new socialist countryside.At present, most of domestic academics and politicians study economic impact of rural tourism from the theoretical level, without consistent evaluation criteria, and lacking systematic and in-depth empirical analysis to case study. Therefore, this article selects four typical representative rural tourism sites in Zhejiang Province, combines qualitative and quantitative methods to analysis the effect of rural tourism on the rural economy and the degree of economic contributions.Based on relative theories, this thesis firstly discusses the source and classification of rural economy, combs the study on economic contribution rate both at home and abroad, analyses the role of the rural tourism in prospecting rural economy from five aspects, and then analyzes the evaluation index system of the economic contribution rate of rural tourism, builds the related mathematical model.Secondly, taking Zhejiang Province's four representative types of rural tourism sites as the demonstration cases, this thesis calculates and analyzes the five indicators in the evaluation index system based on the investigating data to reflect the economic impact of rural tourism,sums up that different types of rural tourism have different level of economic contribution. At the same time, according to the Economic Contribution Theory, Gray System Theory in Industrial Economics and the model of economic contribution rate, this thesis summaries the general laws of the economic contribution of Zhejiang rural tourism and analyses its causes.Finally, aiming at the actual condition of the tourism development in Zhejiang Province, the thesis points out the rural tourism's economic and social status and its weaknesses, puts forward some measures to develop rural tourism and promote the economic contribution rate to guarantee the sustainable development of rural tourism.The results show that different types of rural tourism have different characteristics of economic contribution. Rural tourism has a positive role in promoting rural income and employment. However, rural economic development is under the general conditions, while tourism is scarce, not every village has the conditions to develop rural tourism. And the villages which have been developing rural tourism are not allowed to expand the scale of rural tourism infinitely but rather to develop rationally and scientifically according to their own resources. Only in this way, can rural tourism obtain good economic returns and contribute to the rural economy.
