After years of development, China's rural economic development has made considerable progress and the farmer's living standard has also been greatly improved. The economic development in rural areas mainly relies on agricultural production, and now the animal husbandry, which is an important part of agriculture, has become an important growth pole in the development of agricultural production. However, as there are many disadvantages in the traditional-family-oriented and distributed operating mode of animal husbandry cultivation, which is not conductive to improve the efficiency and scale of animal husbandry production, the rapid development of rural economy has been restricted. Therefore, we need introduce the new form of industrial organization—industry cluster into the industrial development of animal husbandry to promote the development of related industries and speed up the process of transforming traditional animal husbandry to the modern animal husbandry. Thus, we can enhance the competitiveness of animal husbandry, increase the income of peasants and promote the rapid development of rural economy through the development of agricultural industry cluster. In this article, with selecting the specific area of traditional agricultural areas and drawing on domestic and foreign industrial cluster theory, the author studies the animal husbandry industry cluster on the basis of the former study on agricultural cluster. First of all, starting from six factors borrowing from Porter's "diamond model", the author analyzes the formation conditions of the animal husbandry industry cluster in traditional agricultural areas on the basis of a full awareness of the situation of animal husbandry development. Then, the author measures the agglomeration degree of the animal husbandry industry cluster in traditional agricultural areas by building two indexes—location quotient index and the spatial Gini coefficients. This paper also analyzes the effects (such as increasing the peasants' income, optimizing the industrial structure of agriculture, upgrading the industry competitiveness, speeding up the urbanization) on the regional economic growth owing to the animal husbandry industry cluster in traditional agricultural areas. At the same time, in order to obtain the further demonstration of effects on the regional economic growth owing to the animal husbandry industry cluster in traditional agricultural areas, this paper calculates the gray correlation degree between the agglomeration degree of the animal husbandry industry cluster and the regional economic growth in traditional agricultural areas by using gray relational analysis method. Finally, some suggestions for promoting the development of the animal husbandry through the form of industry cluster have been put forward.Through the study, we found that there is a comparatively large relevance between the change in the agglomeration degree of the animal husbandry industry cluster and the regional economic growth in traditional agricultural areas. Developing the animal husbandry in traditional agricultural areas through industry cluster, a unique form of industrial organization, can increase the peasants' income, optimize the industrial structure of agriculture, upgrade the industry competitiveness and speed up the urbanization, so as to promote the development of local economic. And the higher the agglomeration degree is, the greater impact strength on local economic development there has. In addition, through measuring the agglomeration degree, we found that the animal husbandry industry cluster is still in the initial stage in Chinese traditional agricultural areas. In certain sub-class industry, there has less gathering areas, and the level of industry clustering is not high. It also shows a trend of unbalanced development in different regions, and only a few provinces have strong concentration advantages. Therefore we should promote the development of animal husbandry in the form of industrial agglomeration by making full use of the role of guidance and regulation of government, speeding up the construction of livestock production base, accelerating the development and growth of leading enterprises and strengthening the service system.
