Mold industry in China's national economy play an important role, it represents the level of a national manufacturing and technical capabilities. With the continuous development of the plastics industry, plastic mold manufacturing enterprises will have a great opportunity, but also will face fierce competition in the market. For an enterprise, whether you could get the order or not is the key to successfully survive and develop in the competition. The mold quotation is the important basis for the negotiations between enterprise and customer, pricing too high will make companies less competitive and miss orders, offer too low will lose money, so whether the pricing is reasonable or not directly related to the profit and loss, whether the management objectives could achieve or not and market competitive strategy, etc.Most of the current mold enterprises have adopted traditional mold quotation methods such as experience estimation method, comparison method of similar products, materials price comparison estimation method, and these methods are all based on the experience, so the results are greatly uncertain. And accurate mold cost couldn't be figure out until the mold has been made. Therefore, the mold manufacturers need a customer inquiry system which could budget mold price accurately and response to customers rapidly.This paper focused on the plastic cavity mold and established a plastic mold price estimate system. The system offer mold enterprises more accurate and rapid molds quotation tools to respond to customer requests and marketable competition. The paper mainly adopt the man-hour technical parameters method, this method can reflect the mold design and manufacturing process, coupled with method based on self-made mold-base quotation to develop valuation system. In the second chapter of the article, it has researched and analyzed the man-hour technical parameters method of Estimation Principle and formula calculation process for constructing a theoretical model of the man-hour parameters method quotation. In the third chapter, it described the implementation of the system database, through organizing pricing factors data reasonably and effectively, the paper set up a database which involves a large number of information, and can be selected and used at any time by the system.The system is based on Microsoft's Visual Basic 6.0 as development platform, using Microsoft's MS Access to set up database system, the system interface is simple and convenient to use.
