The Technology Level And Technical Structure Of China's Services Exports And Their International Comparison

In the surging tide of modern science and technology today, information technology has a revolutionary effect on all aspects of international trade. The modern service industry as well as the development of trade in services also gradually relies on the high technology. A large number of advanced techniques have been applied to service industries. The fusion of high-tech and service industry has shown modern technological trends of trade in services. This makes the financial services, computer information and other new service trade show features of technology-led, but also makes the traditional service industries turn over a new leaf.The structure of international trade in services, driven by the economic globalization and technological progress, is continually optimized and upgraded. However the present study on trade in services could not allow us to identify the technical level of modern service trade and its changes, and find out the variance of technical structure of trade in services. For this purpose the article will draw on the method of trade-related technical content measurement to study and explore the technical content of trade in services, as well as the overall technical structure in major economies.The article consists of four parts. The first part is to analyze and summarize the related research at home and abroad, and put forward the contents and main idea of this article; the second part is mainly to build a new measure indicators of technological content of products and services in trade of services, along with the research methods of service exports'technological structure; the third part of the article is the application of the new indicators and methods. By using the relevant data from 1995 to 2007, we'll analyze the technical content of trade in services and the trends of its changes; in the fourth part we'll study and compare the technical structure of service trade in major economies, and explore the main factors affecting their structural changes; Finally, based on the above analysis results and combined with China's development situation and conditions, the article will make relevant policy recommendations on how to improve the level of technology content and optimize the technical structure of China's service trade.
