After World WarⅡ, especially since the 1970s,unemployment has become a serious problem in the world. Unemployment not only waste the human resources, but also lead to serious social problems. Chinese population is large, and there is always a contradiction between supply and demand of laborer always has been, so our country also faces a serious unemployment problem. Especially in the 1990s, technological innovation, the further adjustment of industrial structure, a large number of laid-off and the surplusaff appeared in urban cities, as a result, the rate of unemployment in cities and towns has been increasing rapidly. In this research, the urban unemployed people are taking as the subject, This paper pays attention to analyzing the urban unemployed people's social network, try using the network analysis method of the Western sociology to answer this question. The author will analyzes the type and scale and structure of network of the unemployed people's social network. At the same time, in the view of the basic conclusions of the unemployed people's social network, the author discusses them deeply. This paper is composed by five parts together.The first part as a preface, includes a general description of background, purpose, significance of this research and summarizes the relatable study in domestic and foreign.The second part mainly describes the research method, innovation points and weak points of this paper.The third part focuses to describe the basic characteristics of the urban unemployed people, and then analyzes the group's features.Part four mainly describes the general characteristics of the unemployed people social network. It analyzes the social network's situation from the following aspects: scale, homogeneity, diversity, the structure of various relationships.In the last part, summarize the research, based on the summarization of the result, it has made certain theoretical analysis and discussion. Meanwhile, provide some ideas and measures to improve the social life of cities and to ease the lives of the unemployed pressure.
