In the 90 years since the 20th century, the planned economy to socialist market economic system transition and the transformation of structure of a traditional agricultural society to modern industrial society, different from low-level equilibrium widespread urban poverty before the reform and opening up and low incoming of non-employees traditional urban poverty at beginning of the reform and opening up, a laid-off, unemployed and new migrants mainly problems of urban poverty, and bring up low-income populations in transition period. Chairman Hu pointed out: "The urban poverty and social security of unemployed persons is the key problem related to the desire of the people, rise and fall of the country."This paper from the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Land Resources and Planning, key research projects"Planning of Wuhan Demand low-income people"during the year. This paper based on the topics of first episode: the research of basic situation of low-income people in Wuhan.Thesis based on analysis results from Urban Social Geography of social areas and micro social investigation, and the implementation of Wuhan and in-depth distribution of low-income people in the form of questionnaires and interviews in communities to obtain first-hand information. Based on the analysis of three aspects, composition characteristics of low-income people, distribution characteristics and behavior characteristics of low-income people in Wuhan, summarized the basic characteristics, in order to understand the living conditions of low-income people in Wuhan, for the next phase of urban construction and planning decisions. Explore the causes of poverty in low-income people in Wuhan, from the policy, institutional and personal effects such as low-income multi-dimensional points of view factors. Seek the truth theory is closely related with the current situation of Wuhan.Thesis is divided into four parts. First, according to the background of accelerated urbanization and social transformation raised the concern of low-income populations and to define the division criteria of the standard low-income people in Wuhan. Second, the analysis of the life cycle of low-income groups, socio-economic status and living standards constitute the characteristics of living space for low-income population distribution and characteristics of behavior space as evidence. Third, key sections of this paper, and fulfill the status of living space of low-income populations from urban and rural. By three types of low-income settlements, and according to their distribution patterns, and proposed the dynamic evolution of homogeneous concentration, heterogeneous mixed population, invasive succession, from the system, policy, planning and personal point of view of the residential differentiation of low-income people living in Wuhan, summary of low-income people through surveys spatial characteristics of life style and behavior. Finally, the paper summarizes and discusses results and Prospects insufficient.
