Study On Status Of Coal Production And Trade In Inner Mongolia

Energy is one of the essential factors of production in economical system operation, and become today's global strategic and basic resources. In the production and consumption structure of energy in our country, the ratio of coal production and consumption in energy have respectively accounted for 70% and 65%, while these ratios are higher in Inner Mongolia—as the largest coal storage area and the second largest coal-producing region in our country. At the end of 2008, these ratios of coal production and consumption in energy in Inner Mongolia had respectively accounted for the 94.25% and 90.21% , so coal is taken as a more leading resources in production and consumption of energy in Inner Mongolia. However, coal has not only guaranteed people's lives and the development of economy in Inner Mongolia—the value-added of secondary industry in 2008 accounting for 55.0% of GDP, but more it plays a supporting role for the development of the entire industry and economy in Inner Mongolia and even our country.Therefore, taken production and trade of international coal as the background and combined with the situation of energy production and trade in our country, this paper study coal production and trade situation in Inner Mongolia in the positive and normative economics research methods and explain correlation between coal consumption and trade and economic growth in Inner Mongolia, coal's contribution to economic growth and economic dependence on coal energy. Meanwhile, this paper also shows that the net transfer of coal in Inner Mongolia is mainly to meet the domestic demand and is still increasing year by year, while net exports is much less, which further clarified that the coal play the basic and supporting roles in economic development of Inner Mongolia and even our country. In view of this analysis ,this paper finds out factors which influenced coal production and trade of Inner Mongolia and put forward some suggestions on the sustainable development and utilization of coal resources in Inner Mongolia.
