With increasingly higher environmental standards and diversification of users' demand, environmental protection coal terminal with the professional coal blending function has attracted more and more attention. But there is leak of experience of management and construction of this new coal terminal in the port industry all over the world. So, we have many engineering and production management problems to be solved. This paper took an in-depth study with a coal terminal of closed silo yard, which is under planning and it's the 1st one has professional coal blending function. The main research contents are as fellows:Firstly, this paper described practical significance of coal blending and coal users' demand of coal blending domestic and abroad; and it analyzed general model of coal users' coal blending and advantages and disadvantages of port's traditional coal blending technology. Furthermore, with concepts of the modern logistics, combing with the development level of modern port handling equipment, it discussed the advantage of professional coal blending in the port production process of handling and the prospect of a win-win situation among of coal users, coal companies and coal terminal.Secondly, this paper described advantages and development trends of deposit coal in silo; it also analyzed the fundamental component, layout, handling equipment allocation and technological process of the coal terminal logistics system of closed silo yard with the professional coal blending and environmental protection function.Thirdly, this paper discussed the fundamental components, functions and key strategies of coal terminal production management system of closed silo yard. And it proposed two methods of randomly and regularly stacking with regard to strategy of into silo, and also it put forward two goals of lessening start process and clearing silo priority with regard to strategy of out to silo. Besides, with combination of the above-mentioned strategies, this paper put forward six production scheduling programs, establishing yard silo dynamic production management strategy and its mathematical model of distribution.Finally, with analyzing the discrete event and the random variable of coal terminal logistics system, based on discrete event system theory, the paper established a simulation model of silo coal terminal's handling production process, and conducted a simulation test for the six production scheduling strategies; and it deeply analyzed different characteristics of the production scheduling strategy of the coal terminal with yard silo.The research of this paper provides a useful help and support for the design and management of the enclosed yard coal terminals.
