Study Of Distribution According To Work In The View Of Socialist Harmonious Society

In the 1840s to the 70s, Marx's distribution according to work theory went through several different stages of development, namely, thorough denial, initial formation, reaching maturity and final establishment. The publishing of The Critique of the Gotha Programme marks the final establishment of distribution according to work theory,which indicates distribution according to the quantity and quality of an individual's work. Lenin, Stalin, Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping inherited and developed Marx's distribution according to work theory, integrating with concrete conditions. The theory possesses its own new characteristics in a socialist market economy.The realization of harmonious social fairness and justice inevitably demands the distribution system with the distribution according to work remaining dominant and the coexistence of a variety of modes of distribution .Since China adopted the reform and opening-up policy, residents'income gap widens. Gap widens in residents'overall income, inter-industry income, the income of urban and rural residents and that of different regions, which has already become the main cause of people's unfair feelings. This is harmful to the building of socialist harmonious society.It is required that we must unswervingly adhere to the dominant position of the socialist public economy because this lays the fundamental for the implementation of distribution according to work. It is also required that we should increase workers'income, regulate the excessively high income of state-owned monopoly industries, adopt performance-based salary system that suits to public institutions, establish and perfect the system of social security. By doing this, we will manage to implement the principle of distribution according to work and fulfill common prosperity and social harmony.
