Study On Eco-city-building Strategies In Taiyuan City

City is a symbol of human civilization, with the socio and economic develop, it is political, economic, cultural, financial and high technology and science concentration. With urbanization, industrialization and socio-economic advancement, a series of environmental problems have been found. The ecologists proposed "eco-city" harmonious development model to make a reasonable development of the nature, economy and society. "Ecological City" is the inevitable strategy of sustainable development, and the direction and objectives of modern urban development. Taking Taiyuan for example, this paper analysis the construction of eco-city based on natural environment and social economy.The whole text is divided into seven parts. The first part is introduction, which introduces the eco-city research background, significance, status and summary of domestic and foreign research and the meaning and characteristics of ecological city. The second part focuses on the theory, analysis and technical route of the construction of ecological city. The third part, for the status of Taiyuan, discussing the favorable ecological conditions, constraints and other aspects, pointed out the opportunities and challenges and sustainable development capacity of the construction of ecological city of Taiyuan. The fourth part built a scientific ecological city model with the status of Taiyuan and proposed the concept, characteristics, objectives and targets of the eco-cities. The fifth part put forward the general concept of urban development based on the principle of the eco-city construction. The sixth part analysis the concept and problems of the eco-city construction, and put forward some measures and safeguards on ecological city building. The last part made some conclusions of the construction of ecological city of Taiyuan.
