Since the foundation of China, its regional development strategy has been experienced of "balanced development-not-balanced development-coordinated development" model. With the growth of national economic strength, the gap between western and eastern regions widened further, not conducive to long-term development and stability. So vigorously promoting western development strategy, minimizing the gap between East and West become a consensus. Economic level is weak in western China not forming industry competitive advantage. In this context, learning advanced scientific theories, selecting the appropriate mode of regional economic cooperation can be able to achieve complementarily and avoid weaknesses of the effects and the rapid development of regional economy.Growth Triangle as an application of economic radiation theory is the most representative pattern under the form of regional economic cooperation. Growth Triangle can promote bilateral economic development, stimulate the regional economy and improve the level of modernization through active and effective radiation between cities. The radiation efficiency depends on whether the economic level compatible with the road transport network. This article is based on economic radiation theory, explaining the growth model and mechanism of triangle development. Evolution stage of spatial organization is also explained. The thesis takes Chengdu, Chongqing and Xi'an as the cores of the Western Growth-Triangle. The paper analyses the basic developmental conditions of the Western Growth-Triangle, and used the economic linkage strength index as indicator to study accessibility of the local poles and central areas. Economic status of radiation is researched too. In this article, Radiation and the spatial structure of economic imbalance, large range of short-board area of radiation are considered as key constraint factors in the development of the West Triangle area. And in order to solve these constraint factors, this thesis proposed the following solutions:Creating sub-scale Growth Triangle in the Western Growth-Triangle, and improving the traffic network design to meet regional development needs.
