Empirical Research On The Trade Adjustment Cost Of Manufactured Products Between China And USA

Since 1990,especially after China joined into WTO,the trade between American and China is accelerating in the process of liberalization.The trade of between American and China in the share of world trade is becoming more and more high which have a significant influence in the world economy.And American and China are also one of the important forces in the pushing negotiations of doha round of multilatateral trade.But in recent years,trade frictions between American and China are increasing.The voice of the bilateral trade structure must adjustmented and bilateral trade must balanced is gradually high.Between the two countries have a problem of low level of intra-industry trade which also affected the adjustment costs of trade between the two countries,thereby affecting the sustainable healthy development of bilateral trade. the trade of in manufactured goods between the two countries have a dominate in the all trade between two countries which have also have a major impact on China's industrialization process,the trade in this field brought the costs of trade liberalization which is worth reasearchingAdjustment costs of American and China's intra-industry trade which used data published by the United Nations were empirical analysised according to in general and sub-industry by A,S index.The characteristics and trends of Adjustment costs of American and China's intra-industry trade was concluded by all directions analysis. The results show that the majority of manufactured products of China and USA are in the inter-industry trade and higher adjustment costs. The high-tech industry's trade adjustment cost is relatively lower. The adjustment cost of medium-tech industry has been gradually decreasing and the low-tech industry's trade adjustment cost is relatively higher.Finally,the measures and suggestions of how to reduce the cost of the adjustment costs of American and China's intra-industry trade were explored basing on the conclusions.
