Study Of Baosteel's Spare Parts Procurement On Supply Chain Management

After China get the membership of WTO,the iron and steel industry will be the first industry out of the state protection, exposure to international market competition. Today, the rapid development of high and new technology are constantly triggered the adjustment of the world economic structure.The global level of productivity has greatly improved,at the same time,the excess production capacity of traditional industries is great, iron and steel industry is one of them. In order to adapt to new and changing business environment, establishing enterprises competitive advantages and enhancing the capacity for sustainable development, the world's major enterprises,particularly the traditional manufacturing industry have put in the request of revolution. Establishing a new type of operating system, improving the overall competitiveness have become the goal of the enterprise.Organizational revolution, business reengineering, resource optimization, means and management improving have become the general trend. To adjust to the new competitive environment, Baosteel accelerated the pace of the integration operation. Because of the special status of Baosteel's shares in the international and domestic steel enterprises,particularly when the major domestic iron and steel enterprises have also conducted merger,it has general meaning to construct the system of spare parts procurement on supply chain management. Considering the overall supply chain, it's important to analyze the status quo and problems of Baosteel's procurement and procurement management, systematically sum up Baosteel procurement ESI integration and experience and lessons of Baosteel procurement,get the supply chain with the core competitiveness,so as to achieve efficient process, share information, reduce costs,response quickly and synergy effectively.This paper firstly discusses the concept of supply chain management and theory of procurement management, then according to Pohang Iron and Steel's advanced procurement management practice, summed up relevant experience of China's iron and steel enterprises in the procurement management. Secondly, through the analysis of Baosteel's procurement. Thirdly, according to Baosteel's current situation and advanced international procurement management philosophy, integrated with Baosteel strategic objectives,the paper constructed the supply chain of the spare parts, as well as described the related key techniques.Finally, the paper summarized the study results and gave conclusions.At the same time,the paper came up with the task to be done.
