Empirical Study Of Critical Success Factors For New Product Development Project In Chinese Manufacturing Enterprise

Since the eighties of last century, China's manufacturing industry has achieved rapid development, which has made great contributions to improve living standards and the promotion of China's rapid economic development. However, during the current global economic crisis, most of the manufacturing enterprises of our country undertake varying degrees of crisis, which impact on the healthy development of China's overall economy. How to improve the capability of new products development(NPD) in Chinese manufacturing enterprises, promote industry upgrading and restructuring, in order to found a solid foundation for China's economic development, becoming a difficult problem which Chinese manufacturing enterprises are facing. Therefore, the in-depth study of NPD, and the critical success factors(CSFs) for manufacturing enterprises to improve the success rate of NPD, enhancing the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises has important practical significanceThis article first reviews the domestic and foreign standards for NPD success, CSFs and development process based on related research, combined with the implementation of China's manufacturing enterprises NPD activities in practice, defines the key concepts involved in this article; Then analyze and summary the development of China's manufacturing industry, NPD status and problems; After that, analyze and refine the new product CSFs of manufacturing firms in China; Finally, use empirical research methods, design the questionnaire, investigate 83 large and medium manufacturing enterprises in different regions and industries, and apply statistical analysis software to analyze the differences of critical success factors of new product development among different process stages, which could provide theoretical guidance for the successful implementation of new product development project in Manufacturing enterprises.
