A Study On The Design And Management Of The Provincial Capital City Image

With the fast development of urbanization, not only the appearance of cities, but also people's opinions of city and life style have been changed. China is country with a vast territory, excellent geographical conditions, and beautiful landscape. No matter they are ancient cities with profound culture or modern small and medium size cities newly developed, the building of city images should get rid of the monotonous design and draw the good experience of developed cities abroad and at home, combine the traditional sources and advance with the times. Development is the only way for cities to exist, and the key is what should be done to make cities develop reasonably, match the humanization of city design and the opinions of administration, further show the humanistic care and the aesthetic pursuit. The city administration should hold the humanistic attitude, respect the law and history, collect different ideas and stand out the taste of the city. It neither admires the antiquity nor modernization, but combines the ancient and modern artfully. So that the city could have its own individual character and show its features.The writing of present thesis is through literature consulting, social interview, questionnaires and field investigation. Through consulting literature, the history of city development abroad and at home and the present conditions have been analyzed systematically, and the questions of present conditions and the process of development have also been explained. Besides, probing from city culture, city image communication and public art, etc. to analyze in more detail the questions which come from the design of city image, point out the crucial points, and proposes part of suggestions of how to reasonably design and administrate. At the same time, the thesis advocates the all-around design of city to prove the development of city image.
