A Study On Building City Parks And Reshaping The City Image

A City Park is a particular space in the city which needs a constant developing alongside the urban development. It has a variety of functions in the city like providing public space for leisure activities and displaying image of a city in a nutshell. However, the background of a city's historic environment can affect the development of city parks. Nevertheless, the city parks also affect the layout and the modernization construction of a city. Therefore, between the two we must strike a suitable progressive balance in city development, history and future management.This research examines the perspective of the construction of city parks to enhance its city image through construction based on a rich historical background. Specifically this paper analyzed the success of Hangzhou West Lake Park in shaping the image of the city of Hangzhou.First, we have analyzed the nature of the products provided within the city park like public goods and the rights of residents. This has cleared showed that there is a deliberate effort by the local government to provide a green image and atmosphere for the city dwellers. Secondly, we focused on the establishing the urban demand for recreational facilities within their reach. Third, we analyzed the city image identity system, in which the historical and modernization elements can be reflected in the building of city parks.This paper concludes that the impacts of City Park on the city image can influence city development strategic areas: beautification of the urban environment, improvement of the ecological environment, spreading of the urban culture, the highlighting of the rights of the people and finally the promotion of the urban development. The construction of city parks basically plays a major role in shaping a city image and can be the basis of a thorough investment in the elevation of a city Parks as a carrier of the past historical and future image of the people though physical infrastructural aspects. We propose key reform measures which can shape the image of the Changchun City into a ecological friendly vicinity of garden magnitude.
