Then the infant industry argument for protection, the super-protectionism in trade and the new trade protectionism and so on appears in succession. With the development of economy, world trade is further deepened. The trade protection is further expanded in particular way, when many countries claim to support for'liberal trade'.In 1923-1933, an economic crisis engulfed the entire capitalist world. Many countries used the trade protection to save themselves. But it not only further worsened their already difficult situations, but also cast a shadow on the future development of the global economy.This US financial crisis is similar to the great crisis in 1929. When the global economy appears worldwide depression, the trade protection begins raging in the world. From the latter half of 2009, world economy appears recovery. After a two-year financial crisis, profound changes are tacking place in global economic patterns. Global economy is now firmly rebounding, and each country actively battles for market share. So foreign trade becomes particularly importance, and trade protection heats up again. Form 2008 in the fourth quarter, the export trade of many courtiers falls off seriously. The leaders of G20 promise they would not add international trade restrictions. But then 17 countries of G20 along with other countries issued 47 international trade restrictions successively. With increasing of the trade protectionism, the expansion of the world economy and trade is still slow.The fourth part of this article is the discussion on trade protection. On the bass of preamble, this part began to search the motive of the trade protection. The author analyzes the motive of the trade protection from both the inside and the outside. The outside includes economic globalization, intensified international competition and global financial crisis. Subtle changes are tacking place in global political and economic patterns. And these changes have increased the contradictions between exported countries and imported countries, between developed countries and developing counties, between lack of resources countries and rich countries.
