Eco-tourism Environmental Capacity Appraisal In Baoxing Scenic Spot Sichuan

Since 1980s, the tourism has become a large industry over the world with rapid development speed. During this process, the people gradually realized that within the tourist lurk many imminent dangers, especially the development of tourism has objectively produced an negative effect on the natural environment, economic progress and social culture of tourist destination, Over the past 10 years, worsening tourism environment has caused wide public concern. How to improve the ecological and environmental quality of tourist destination and how to promote the local economic development have become bottleneck in the development of tourist industry. The concept of Traveling Environmental Carrying Capacity (TECC) and its assessment method was put forward firstly for paying attention to the critical number of visitors which is able to affect the quality of natural resources and the experience quality of travel. But with the extension of TECC's connotation, it has turned into an important tool in tourism resource management and a basis for judgment of environmental sustainable development of regional tourism.The paper based on demands of the ecotourism, and the goal is to protect ecology tourism for further development, and apply local experience to the entire area by the scenic investigation method in order to get the eco-tourism environmental capacity parameter. According to Baoxing County tourism situation at present and eco-tourism development targets, from the suitable appraisal of the ecological, facilitic, economic and psychological environment capacity, the research indicates Baoxing County ecological environment capacity (EEBC) is 1181 people per day, facility environmental capacity (FEBC) is 2435 people per day, space environmental capacity (REBC) is 1980 people per day, and the psychology environmental capacity (PEBC) is 1833 people per day. According to "the wooden barrel principle" of the tourism environment capacity as well as the psychological environment of the estimated data, it can be concluded the reception capacity of Baoxing area date capacity D is approximately 1200 people per day. Excluding the elements of weather, Baoxing scenic spot can have the capacity of approximately 288000 people per year in 240 days.But according to the actual data of reception capacity in 2008, the travelers in Baoxing County is 500900, that is to say Baoxing spot reception was in oversaturation condition. However because of its own periodicity, temporarily not saturated pattern and the overload features in turns, the Baoxing eco-tourism environment capacity still has the room to increase. Therefore, from the actual situation of Baoxing, the environmental capacity of Baoxing County canbe increased from the following strategies:First, improving and emphasizing the environmental protection to enlarge Baoxing County's ecological environment capacity. Second, increasing county interior kinds of infrastructures for larger space of economic environment capacity. Third, dealing with the different phenomenons well that travllers are divided by different scenic development and designs. Fourth, strengthening the scenic area management and service level so as to appeal the interests of participants, and psychological environment capacity.
