An Appraisal Of Beijing's Tourism Environmental Carrying Capacity And Its Potentiality

As the capital of china and the world-famous city in the history and culture, Beijing has tremendous attraction for tourists from home and abroad. Tourism centered on the international tourism and based on national tourism has become a pillar industry in Beijing. With the rapid development of the tourism industry, the Beijing tourism planning and development of tourism resources need to be studied further and it has become an important part of this study that how to realize sustainable tourism development. Many scholars believe that the principle of sustainable development in the regional tourism planning is the principle that we must follow and tourism environmental carrying capacity is one of the most important criterion of sustainable development in the regional tourism. Therefore, Beijing's tourism environmental Carrying Capacity and the way of sustainable development are the important parts of sustainable tourism development and sustainable city development. The study on the Beijing's tourism environmental Carrying Capacity can provide the most basic scientific basis for tourism planning and management and also theoretical guidance for the sustainable development of cities.Through a lot of surveys and data analysis ,the paper that is based on the type of tourism resources and the tourism environmental carrying capacity theory establish the assessment model of the tourism environmental carrying capacity, estimates Beijing's tourism environmental carrying capacity componented by spatial carrying capacity, economic and facilities carrying capacity and the ecological carrying capacity. Moreover, this paper research the tourists satisfaction on the Summer Palace, Palace Museum and the Great Wall and the urban residents cognition on the tourism by random survey, analysis the research data by statistical software SPSS, evaluates the social and psychological capacity of tourism by the qualitative and quantitative ways ,puts the way of sustainable development of tourism in Beijing. Main research results are as follows :1) The current problem in the tourism resources development and the development potentialBecause of the irrational use of Beijing tourism resources and the lack of space management measures ,tourists are concentrated highly in tourism peak and tourism scenic spots are damaged increasingly. To the overall level, Beijing's tourism environmental carrying capacity will reach the saturation point soon and need to be improved by the planning and development in all aspects .2) Beijing's tourism environmental carrying capacity and spatial distributionThrough the estimation, Beijing's tourism environmental carrying capacity is156 million people/year, more than 129 million people/year in 2005. It shows Beijing tourism has also certain space for development.
