With rapid economic development, a large number of small manufacturing enterprises come forth which have already played a key role to the national economy. However, with the economic growth and scientific technology advancement, the consumption level of customer is constantly increased which makes customer having greater flexibility and more options for demanding better quality and lower price. In addition, product lifecycle is continually shortened due to the technological progress and various needs which lead to small manufacturing enterprises suffered from the pressure of curtailing the delivery time, improving product quality, reducing cost and enhancing service. How to defuse the pressure and keep the growth is generally concerned by the small manufacturing enterprises as well as the focus of attention in this paper. In this paper from the perspective of manufacturers and with the background of internal and external development of the logistics industry, three relatively weak links in the logistics management, i.e., procurement process control, inventory control and third-party logistics providers are in thorough discussion and research by the use of modern logistics management and control theory.First, on the basis of the summary and classification of the domestic and international literatures, the primary research results related to logistics management and control along with supply chain management and the role played by the logistics control in the small manufacturing enterprises are introduced, which lay a solid theoretical foundation for further study.Second, in the course of the research on the procurement process control, the importance of procurement is expatiated by using the examples owing to the problem of emphasizing production and neglecting procurement in the small manufacturing enterprises. Using the comparison of methods, the respective characteristics of traditional procurement and supply chain procurement are showed. The points and issues paid attention to in the procurement process control are summarized, and the application of modern procurement techniques in the small manufacturing enterprises is discussed.Third, the impact on inventory from the uncertain factors and the function of safety inventory are analyzed based on the classification carried out by use and purpose of the production inventory, and the model on the inventory control problem is given. From the perspective of controlling the total cost of inventory, using quantitative analysis methods including marginal analysis method, EOQ method and setting safety inventory, the solution to the problem of random inventory often encountered in small...
