Road transportation is an important industry of Sichuan's national economy, and also a vital part of the efforts to turn Sichuan into a highland of economic development in western China. It's transition into a modern service industry is essential amid the transition of the whole service industry. To this end, it is pressing to nurture an adequate number of high-quality and versatile road transport professionals in all specialities.Recent years has witnessed a great demand for road transport professionals and thus some resulting problems such as a bad shortage of talents, especially structural talents, and brain drain. The development of the professional team has not been keeping up with the need of the development of the socialist market economy. It is necessary to have an analysis of the structure as well as the eco-system of the road transport professional team, and on this basis, to carry out regulation and control by developing talent in a visionary manner and perfecting talent resources allocation system. On the basis of deep investigation into the current situation of Sichuan road transport professional team, the current paper combines modern human resources management theory with human resources eco-system theory in the analysis of the present professional team building as well as the living environment for the talents in road transport, followed by the identification of existing problems and suggested solutions to professional team building.The paper consists of six chapters. The introduction part, the first chapter describes the background, purpose, significance and methodology of the study. The second chapter is literature review, which explains related concepts. The third chapter reviews the status quo of the road transport industry, while the fourth chapter presents the status quo of the structure of road transport professionals. The fifth chapter expounds the eco-system of the professional team, including internal basis and external circumstances. The sixth chapter suggests measures for professional team building. Hopefully, this paper will be of some help in promoting the realization of the goal of building Sichuan into a highland of road transport talents, in bringing up a structurally rational professional team, as well as in improving talent cultivation, talent introduction, talent flow, talent development and talent management.
