With the extension of the city scale and the increase of the vehicle number day by day, it is very difficult that the city road network and unobstructed ability satisfy the transportation need increasingly, the traffic problems face serious challenges. Urban Traffic Geographic Information System (UTGIS) provides new technique platform and solutions to solve the current urban traffic problems.This thesis designs the UTGIS based on the needs of Luoyang's Urban Traffic Control System, the main work is as follows:1,Realizing the visualization of dynamic and static multi-source information which come from the sub-system of Luoyang's UTGIS.2,Designing the function framework of the system, in which the system is divided into the basic urban traffic GIS and the thematic GIS, the functions of thematic GIS include user-visualization interface, assistant-decision making and preparing case, transportation information query, bus routine query and transfer query. While discusses its main function and realization workflow.3,The thesis resolves two key technical problems. First, carrying out bus transfer query based on the least changing times and the shortest distance. Second, how to support traffic appease considering traffic flow and turning direction prohibitions.4,The thesis designs prototype system based on MapXtreme using .NET development framework, shows the system functions, summarizes the faultiness in the work and puts forward the following research direction.
