Plant growth regulators were an important component of pesticides, which had palyed a huge role in the regulation of plant growth and increasing the food production. The contradictions between population, decreasing land and environment were becaming aculeate increasingly. The situation required that we must research and development environmentally friendly, more effective, novel and safety of Green Pesticide.Acylthiourea compounds, which were called"the pesticides of 21 centuries", had aroused the concern of pesticide industry owing to their bactericidal, insecticidal, herbicidal, plant growth regulating and other activity. By consulting concerning literatures, we reviewed the development and application of plant growth regulators, the biological activities and the synthesis methods of acylthiourea compounds, the biological activity of ferrocene compounds. We have introduced ferrocene group into acylthiourea compounds which is the lead compound by Bioisosterism Principles and Substructure Link Wory. Target compounds (I,II) were synthesized by nucleophilic addition of aromatic amines with acyl isothiocyanates in anhydrous and aprotonic solvent. Their structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. Their synthesis condition, physical-chemical properties and spectral characteristics were analyzed and discussed. Besides, the crystal structure of compoundⅡ3 was detetmined by X-ray diffraction, which further demonstrated the urea linkage was coplanar for the formation of hydrogen band.The compounds were synthesized as follows:Series I N-ferrocenylformyl-N'-aryl bis-(mono-) thiourea derivatives SeriesⅡN-Aryl acyl (Aroxyl acetyl)-N'-ferrocenyl thiourea derivatives Ⅱ1~Ⅱ6 -C6H5 2-FC6H4- 4-FC6H4- 2-ClC6H4- 4-CH3C6H4- 2-OCH3C6H4-Ar=Ⅱ7~Ⅱ9 C6H5OCH2- 4-CH3C6H4OCH2- 4-OCH3C6H4OCH2-Taking the low toxicity of ferrocene derivatives into account, we used ferrocene instead of the aromatic rings, which can also increase iron content of the compound. The molecular structure is as follows:We numbered it asⅡ10.In addition, the activities of these compounds as plant growth regulatiors had been tested by the methods of wheat spront and sheath, radish cotyledon expansion test. Preliminary results indicated that many of this compounds exhibited higher auxin and cytokinin activity. Theauxin activity ofⅠ5,Ⅰ6,Ⅰ7,Ⅰ8,Ⅱ2,Ⅱ8was weekly higher than that of IAA. The cytokinin activity ofⅡ7,Ⅱ10was weekly higher than KT. Besides,Ⅱ10 shows strong cytokinin activity at high concentrations, and also a certain auxin activity.
