This paper studied the dyeing process and the dyeing behavior of the polyester/ polyamide superfine non-woven fabrics with TERASIL disperse dyestuffs in the dip dyeing and the pad dyeing. The dyeability mechanism of these superfine non-woven fibers was investigated. The dyeing effect was evaluated by dye uptake, K/S value, color fastness, building-up and migration properties. Then the optimal dyeing processes were determined. It was found that the optimum dip dyeing condition for the polyester/polyamide superfine non-woven fabrics with TERASIL disperse dyestuffs was dyeing under 100℃for 60min with 0.3 g/L of the auxiliariy agents PB. After dyeing, the dyeings featured above 95% dye uptake, and the K/S value was above 22. The fastness to rubbing could reach up to 4-5 level, the fastness to sunlight is 5 grade, and the fastness to soaping is above 3 grade. The compatibility and building-up were very good. The available process for pad dyeing was as follows: the temperature of baking 170℃,the time of baking 2min,the concentration of auxiliariy agents PB 5g/L, the amount of alginate sodium10g/L. Dyeing under the optimum condition, the K/S value above 11, 5 level fastness to rubbing washing ,4-5grade fastness to light, and over 3-4grade fastness to light. The compatibility of TERASIL disperse dyestuffswas excellent. After dyeing the non-woven fabrics had soft handing, and the hydrophilicity of non-woven increased. According to electron micrographs the splitting rate had been improved. |
