In our country, top energy source is coal resource, about 76% of the whole energy consumption from coal, it deserved “the first energy”. Safety accidents often occur on the production process of coal, causing great loss of property and life for our people. In order to solve this problem, effective means is to establishment of the Colliery Environmental Monitoring System. The system can found security flaws in time to reduce the probability of coal accidents.The paper design a new Colliery Environmental Monitoring System based on deeply research on the coal production environment, the system consists of a PC server, CAN communication network and subordinate computer.PC server is responsible for storage environmental data and alarm settings and provide data support to the higher department. CAN communication network to ensure stable and accurate transmission of data. Subordinate computer is responsible for collecting environmental data and format these data, finally, upload these data.The paper design each component of the Colliery Environmental Monitoring System by using the method of modular design. It can reduce the difficulty of the development meanwhile increase the maintainability of the system. PC server consists of communication drive and database support and function code. CAN communication consists of CAN node module and the ground gateway node station. Subordinate computer consists of A/D, signal switch circuit, sensor, sound/light alarm, MCU.Colliery Environmental Monitoring System can completion the data collecting task,advantageous safeguard the normal production of the coal enterprises, prevented accident.The practice shows, the system by the paper designed is with high adaptability and accuracy, it has certain practical value, worthy of further research and development.
