Triethylamine cold-box core technology, which is a kind of the core technology by the American Ashland grease chemical company in 1968, is launched soon and welcomed by the foundry industry at home and abroad, and has been widely used. Development to today, it has become the most common core-making process in foundry industry. However, the tail gas containing triethylamine is toxic, which is produced in the process of triethylamine cold-box core, and not only pollutes the atmospheric environment, but also damages to human health. Adopting economic and effective way to solve the problems of triethylamine tail gas pollution and amine recycling in process of the triethylamine core-making, has important practical significance for the sustainable development in foundry industry and the construction of ecological civilization.Currently, the methods of organic waste gas treatment include liquid absorption method, adsorption method, burning method, membrane separation, condensation method and biological method, plasma method, etc., but it reports rarely in the casting for the treatment of triethylamine tail gas. To solve the problems of triethylamine tail gas treatment and amine recycling, this topic has carried out the feasibility study of activated carbon adsorption triethylamine, the research of stripping technology after activated carbon adsorption triethylamine and the research of recycling triethylamine by condensing method, and determines the technology solution of "activated carbon adsorption+ stripping+ recycling triethylamine by condensing". It solves the problem of the treatment of triethylamine organic waste gas by the activated carbon adsorption, and then the adsorption of triethylamine is stripped from the activated carbon and is recycled by means of condensation. So it realizes to the purification of triethylamine tail gas and the recycling of triethylamine.The adsorption capacity of triethylamine, the suitable thickness of adsorption layer thickness, the desorption rate, recovery rate and other related parameters were studied experimentally. It finds that the adsorption capacity of triethylamine increases as the increasing of the thickness of activated carbon layer, and when the adsorption reaches saturation, the adsorption capacity of the per gram of activated carbon is 0.0389 g/g. The removal rate of amine in the triethylamine tail gas increases with the increasing of the thickness of the activated carbon. When the thickness of the activated carbon reaches 65 mm, the removal rate of amine reaches 100%. The desorption rate of amine after the adsorption is a sharp increase and levels off later, and the stripping rate of amine does not vary with the increasing of the number of activated carbon adsorption-desorption triethylamine. The recovery rate of triethylamine after desorption decreases with the increasing of the air-amine ratio and increases with the decreasing of the temperature of condensed water.On the basis of the results of the technology solutions of triethylamine cold-box core tail gas treatment and amine recycling and he experimental results, we develop a kind of the triethylamine tail gas treatment equipment with an amine recovery function. The equipment consists of the pre-processor, the tail gas processor and the amine collector. The pre-processor is used to remove dust mixed in tail gas such as solid particles, and thus strips out triethylamine from the adsorption saturation of activated carbon. The tail gas processor is adsorption down the triethylamine tail gas by using of the adsorption of activated carbon. The amine collector strips out the high concentration of triethylamine, and liquefy gas into liquid, and it is recovered. Thus, it not only solves the treatment problem of triethylamine cold-box core tail gas, but also realizes to recovery triethylamine in tail gas.
