This paper aimed to analysis the significant factors affecting the heat transfer performance. The transient maximum heat flux Q-max and thermal conductivity K were chosen as the study index. Influences of Hole rate, Tuck rate and density NP5 of knitted fabric on the transient maximum heat flux Q-max and the thermal conductivity K were investigated. Maximum transient heat flow is just the max amount of heat flue transmitting from the fabric to the out air when the fabric touched the skin. Work by Kawabata and Yoneda(1988) suggested that Q-max should be a standard index to describe the warm-cool feeling in the transient heat transfer process. The thermal conductivity is the quantity of heat transfer from one side to another in a 1 ㎡ fabrics in 1s,while the thickness of the fabric is 1m and the temperature difference is1℃. The maximum transient heat flow plays as the dynamic index to describe tactile thermal comfort and the thermal conductivity plays as the steady one.In this paper, 20 kinds of fabrics were designed and divided into 2groups. The samples were made from 10% silk, 10% cotton, and80%Tencel in 69 counts and 3 stocks. One group of Shifting circle structure and one group of Tuck structure were included. There are 7different kinds of knitted ways for Shifting circle structure fabric and 5for Tuck structure fabric. Q-max and K were measured under the same density NP5 and selected the coolest one in each group which had the highest Q-max and K. The two pieces of selected fabric were changed with density NP5 from 10.4-12.2 increasing by 0.2 step values and then measured them about the Q-max and K. Find the coolest fabric with the certain NP5 to design the summer cool knitted garments.During the analysis, we studied the significant factors of transient heat flow and thermal conductivity K by changing the hole rate, tuck rate and values of density NP5. After theoretical analysis,we get the curve chart of these three factors for transient heat flow Q-max, thermal conductivity K and NP5. And analysis of variance and linear curve chart were made based on these statics. To design the summer clothing, this article firstly analysis the thermal performance of knitwear fabrics to determine the optional weave. Then based on it, the summer clothing was designed. During the design process of summer knitwear, the most commonly used basic hedging round neck T-shirt style was adopted. Based on this, loose lightweight design and open design were made. Without affecting the appearance ofthe case, the amount of loose and opening were enlarged to an appropriate value.
