Combat clothing is the uniforms worn by soldiers in training and combat. Summer combat clothing is uniforms that worn in hot summer or environment when training and battle, therefore, its thermal comfort must be very good. Our army has carried out a number of training services for the reform, including 07-style summer combat clothing,which has bigger changes in both structural changes and the fabric of clothing. However, there are problems in terms of its movement and thermal-wet comfort. As a result, the object of this paper is the summer combat clothing that equipped in 2007(namely 07 combat clothing). Structure optimization design was made by selecting the excellent comprehensive properties of woven fabrics and knitted fabrics each one, then made different style combat clothing which used the concept of stitching design, also related experiments of the human body to verify if the effect of combat clothing comfort was improved by structure optimization design. The purpose of this article is to provide theoretical and practical structure design guidance for perfecting the comfortable feeling of 07 combat clothing from the perspective of fabrics performance improvement and structure optimization.This article tested to physical properties and thermal-wet properties of 5 kinds of woven fabrics and 4 kinds of knitting fabric respectively. Test project: Bending; Stretch ability; Tear; Bursting; Air permeability; Moisture permeability; the capillary effect. Then analyzing the measured data and selecting the best comprehensive properties of woven and knitted fabrics used in the garment through the method of AHP.The comfort of combat clothing was improved by increasing the opening part of the garment and knitting fabric design stitching. This paper proposed three design proposals on the basis of 07 combat clothing, that is, “ventilation back yoke" on the back design, underarm stitching knitting fabric, and the optimal design of chest pocket Angle adjustment, and then produced five different combat clothing.The human body was participated in the experiment to evaluate the combat clothing comfort. The experiment tested the physiological indexes and subjective feeling of the participants respectively. Physiology experiment tested skin temperature and temperature and humidity in the process of movement, subjective evaluation, including wet feeling, thermal, stuffy feeling and sticky feeling in the process of the movement. The experimental results showed that the structure optimization design of combat clothing style 5( " ventilation back yoke", "knitted sleeve fork " and "chest pocket Angle adjustment "), was most obvious for improving wearing comfort ability of 07 combat clothing.
