High inertia loads are a kind of relatively special load. Although it is not common in our daily life, but widely exists in mechanical processing and other industries. High inertia loads due to its inertia, the motion state is not easy to change, in such aspects as the braking and fast reversible control is difficult.Double-housing planer is a kind of high inertia loads, is one of the main work of machine tool in mechanical manufacturing industry. Mainly used for large workpiece surface processing, machining from several tons to a dozen tons of weight. Double housing planer processing technology is characterized by the main workbench to do automatic reciprocating motion, and the requirements to achieve stable operation and stepless speed regulation.By using PLC and inverter of AC variable frequency motor speed, achieving control of high inertia loads. Meanwhile, reformation of electric control system of double-housing planer-type of Model B2012 A, the inertia loads control technology applied to engineering practice.Chapter one introduces the high inertia loads and control problems, and the development of electrical control system of double housing planer, then according to the characteristic of processing technology and summarizes the control requirements. Chapter two describes the PLC and inverter, respectively introduces the structure, working principles, characteristics, classification and selection principle; Chapter three analyses the advantages of AC variable frequency speed control, and to determine the open loop control mode, established planer open-loop control system transfer function; Chapter four designs the hardware circuit for the electric control system of double-housing planer-type of Model B2012 A, drag system driven by inverter and AC frequency conversion motor, control circuit adopts OMRON PLC as the control core; Chapter five is PLC program design of control system, Chapter six is the installation and debugging of the electrical control system.
