Double housing planer, the one of the main machine tools in mechanical industry, occupies an important position in industrial production. Its typical electrical control system is good for Mechanical and electrical and automation related specialized student to study. But although the A series double housing plan's electrical control system is typical, but because of its old age, It is the lack of new technology injected. This task is based on carefully analyzing and researching the original control system of the planer, which aiming to overcome the drawbacks of the original system and add some new technology. This program uses a programmable logic controller as the control core, as well as the DC digital drive as a speed control unit for the DC drive system.The specific plans are as follows. First, in order to add the system reliability, this paper uses Mitsubishi FX2N type PLC to replace the original relay control parts. Second, it reserves the original ac motor control sections (such as the ventilator, electric fan, lubrication pump, lifting motor, clamping motor, etc) and tool lifting parts, and uses the DC digital drive instead of the old DC transmission units. Moreover, this new system adds the HMI, it can show the planer's operation in various pictures. We also can use the HMI simulator in teaching.This paper gives the working principle and the concrete realization of the whole hardware circuit system (including the motor drive circuit, the PLC wiring diagram, analog signal given circuit of 6ra28 and so on). Then specify the software design of the whole system and the parameter setting of the DC speed regulating device. Aiming at the realization of Double housing planer's each function and programming method it also gives the detailed description.
