With rapid increase of state financial input in wastewater treatment sector,wastewater treatment plants with different treatment capacity and process have beenbuilt and put into operation. However, the rapid development of sewage treatmentbusiness also have a series of problems to be solved.Now, there are five sewage treatment plants putting into use in Changchun City,another five sewage treatment plants are under construction. But the sewage treatmentplants still are unable to meet the layout and processing capabilities of the city’sgrowing demand in wastewater treatment. A large number of untreated urban sewagepour into the water bodies directly, causing the pollution of the drainage. Theefficiency of the sewage treatments isn’t high, the treatment standards need to beimproved and water pollution is serious in many cities in China.The sewage treatment plant has been built over10years, the quality of theeffluent implement the standard of Discharge standard of pollutants for municipalwastewater treatment plant (GB18918-2002) level one standard B. The sewagetreatment plant accepts the sewage of Yitong River and the east of Xinkai Basin. Theacceptance of the sewage treatment plant has exceeded its design load, which doesn’tconnect to the city sewage pour into the Yitong River through the overflow pipe. Inaddition, the sewage of eastern Xinkai River and Xiaonanming Ditch also need toaccess to insert to the sewage treatment plant. The extension and upgrading of thesewage treatment plant has been imminent.In this paper, it takes the extension and renovation of the sewage treatment plantas an object, demonstrate through collecting and analyzing datum, forecasting thequality and quantity of the water, comparing technology scheme.In this paper, We collecte the early engineering design, the construction andoperation data of the sewage treatment plant, analyze the quality of the inflow waterand the key problem in production run. On the basis of study the development and theachievement of the sewage treatment technology and the success stories of upgrading and reconstruction the large sewage treatment. We select the improved multi-modebiochemical processes of A/A/O and high density sedimentation tank+cloth filter toachieve discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant(GB18918-2002) of level one standard A.In this paper, the project scale is big and the construction standard is high. Theimplementation of the project can improve the quality of Eastern Xinkai River andYitong River. The research also provide a case worth learning for the upgrading andreconstruction as well as extension in the large-scale sewage treatment plant indomestic.
